Five ways you can use table runners and none of them involve tables. Check it out. Runners make great accent pieces not just for tables. When I have a smaller chair or a skinnier chair, I love to throw a table runner over and then just tuck it in the seam instead of trying to find a pillow small enough to go on it and it works great. Definitely love hanging table runners on the wall like tapestries. I like to let the fringe hang down if I’ve got one with fringe on it so it kind of hangs down the top. I just use a couple of nails to pop it in the wall and fun to put some artwork over it. This is one that I’ve done before and I absolutely love it and I’m still using it y’all. It will last. I promise you. I had three table runners. One different and two the same. So I put the different one in the middle. Kind of scoped out how I wanted my rug to look. I laid it all down and I knew it was going to run duct tape on the backside of it. And then I also had tassels on two of the the table runners and one of them didn’t. So I knew I was going to take a couple of these tassels off and restit them when I was all done. So, all you have to do is lay it good side down so you’ve got the back part of the rug, the table runners and then, just go down and tape those seams. I taped the edges of the top of the middle table runner just so they were perfectly even with the tassel and then, I just came down and I did both sides and I did multiple layers, two layers on each. Flip it over and I’m telling you, this thing is still holding together. Then, I took my little tassels off of the middle pieces of the end of the outside runners and just stitch them onto that middle piece so it looked more cohesive like they all had tassels then that was it in the guest room under a couple of chairs with the chest table we made out of a TV tray and we love it instead of using a throw or a blanket use a table runner on the back of a bench or the end of your bed. Great accent pieces to add that little fun pop of color. Also you can turn table runners like this into bolster pillows. Cut this one in half. Tassels on one side then I flipped the other piece so that have tassels on the other side. So both sides would be equal of the tassels. And then with something like this I like to just make it like a regular pillowcase with a little bit of fabric glue. So all I’m going to do is line these up perfectly. I’m going to come through and put a little fray check on that edge that I cut just to make sure it doesn’t fray. We’re going to like go totally no stitch here. Then I’m going to leave this side open and then come through the other three sides with some fabric glue. Hold it all together until it dries. About 5 minutes. Always put a couple of books on top of it to kind of hold it in place and then that’s it. You literally have a tasseled pillowcase that you can slide a pillow in one side but I’m not going to use pillows. I’m going to use old towels. So I roll the towels to kind of fit and then slide them in. See that’s like a tasseled pillowcase for towels that you made out of table runners. Think outside the box y’all.
