The first few gallons of water are the dirtiest and it fills up my first flush diverts. Once it’s filled, the water runs down this pipe and down into the tank. It’s a 2-five00 gallon tank and it’s actually almost full now. The water comes out at the bottom to avoid stirring up any sediment. Another 00 gallons or so and it’ll start going out the overflow. This year, I’ve been treating it with bleach and it’s kept the water crystal clear. My overflow has a screen on the end of it to keep critters from going up in it. To avoid losing my treated water once it’s filled, I’ll open this up and make it a bypass.
